 Jenny Herndon - First & Second Grade Teacher

I am excited to be teaching the 1st and 2nd graders at The Prep School Academy this year.  I have been a teacher at The Prep School since February 2006.  I earned my Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education from IU in 2004.  My husband, Ryan, and I have a three year old daughter, Joske who attends The Prep School. I enjoy watching the Cubs, reading, and spending time with my family.

Lindsay Vigil - First & Second Grade Assistant Teacher

This year I will be working in the 1st and 2nd grade classroom at The Prep School Academy. I was born and raised in Madison, Indiana.  I moved to Bloomington in 2003.  I earned an Associates degree in Early Childhood Education and in Business Administration from Ivy Tech.  I am currently attending St. Mary’s of the Woods College to complete my Bachelors degree!  I started working at The Prep School in October 2004!  I enjoy spending time with my husband, Tony.  I also enjoy camping, fishing, boating, hiking, and going to concerts.

Amy Mason - Kindergarten Teacher

I have been teaching at The Prep School since 2000!  I am originally from Culver, Indiana.  I have a Bachelors degree in Education and Theatre from Wittenberg University.  My husband Rob, and I have three wonderful children: Grace(6yrs), William(2yrs), and James (6 months).  We love to travel, read, go for walks, take pictures, and hang out with friends!  I am super excited to be teaching Kindergarten at The Academy this year!

Lisa Tatlock - Kindergarten Teacher

I am a Kindergarten teacher at TPS Academy and I love being part of such a great school.  I grew up in the Ellettsville area and currently reside in Ellettsville with my husband, Jayson, and our seven year old daughter, Baileigh.  I have a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education with a Kindergarten endorsement from Indiana University.   I enjoy cooking, scrap booking, participating in church activities, and spending time with my family.

Emily Crohn - Assistant Teacher

I am excited to be working at The Prep School Academy this school year. I am currently a student at Indiana University studying Elementary Education. I enjoy spending time with family and friends and playing with my dog Marley.

Allie Morris - Assistant Teacher

I am a floating teacher at The Prep School and The Prep School Academy.  I am originally from Alexandria, Indiana.  I received my Child Development Associate Certificate (CDA), from Ivy Tech State College and am currently working towards my Associates degree in Early Childhood Education.  My husband, Dan and I have a son Gavin (3yrs), and are expecting a baby girl in September!  In my spare time, I like to bowl, shop, cook, and spend time with my wonderful family and friends! The Prep School is such an awesome place to be!

Carrie Olsen - Music, Instrument Instruction

I am the music teacher, librarian, and an assistant teacher at The Prep School.  I also give piano lessons to students at The Prep School!  I have degrees from IU in Music Performance (cello) and in English.  In my spare time, I enjoy gardening, hiking, and sewing.  I live in Bloomington with my husband, Lukas, and our pets, Badger and Arlo.

Jana Deppe - Movement

I am a floating teacher and the movement teacher at The Prep School and Prep School Academy.  My husband, Mike, and I reside on the east side of Spencer with our five year old son, Aidan, who attends TPS, and 4 month old son, Luke.  I have a Bachelors degree from Indiana State University in Physical Education and a Child Development Associate from Ivy Tech.  I enjoy playing softball, camping, spending time with family and friends, boating, and riding my motorcycle!

Nichole Stonier -Art Teacher

I teach art at the Prep School Academy.  Justin and I are raising three creative kids here in Bloomington where we both grew up.  I am currently seeking a B.F.A in Metalsmith and Jewelry Design at Indiana University. The more art in my life, the better!

Jean Welp - Karate Teacher

Jean received her black belt in Tae Kwon Do in 1998 at Monroe County Martial Arts and has been teaching since 1996. Jean began teaching at the Prep School when the karate program was added, but took a one year break in 2008.  Jean loves being back and is having a great time working with the students of TPSA!  Jean is married and has two sons in college. Jean also work full time at IU in the Biology Department.

Gail Merrill - Librarian

Gail taught in public schools at the elementary level for nearly 20 years in Indiana, Illinois, California and New Jersey.  She got her B.A.in Elementary Educatioin  from the University of Evansville and her M.A. in Reading from Northern Illinois University.  Gail and her husband, John, have lived in the Bloomington area for 5 years. They will celebrate their 34th anniversary May 1st this year.  They have one grown daughter, Jessica, who is an RN and a son-in-law, Jeremy.  They also have a big gray tabby cat named Harvey and a granddog named Jonas.  In her spare time, Gail likes to read, walk, play tennis, garden and quilt.  She is also co-founder of a local civic organization called BloomingPeace Partners and is working with people all over Bloomington to develop our city into a model "City of Peace".

Courtney Van Winkle - Spanish Teacher 

I teach Spanish at The Prep School Academy! I am currently a student at IU-Bloomington. I have studied Spanish for seven years and have traveled to Mexico as an exchange student. I enjoy going to movies, cooking, spending time with friends, and travelling. I’m excited to be working at The Prep School Academy and sharing my love of language with the kids!

Jenn Campanella- French Teacher 

Bonjour!  Jenn grew up in Massachusetts, where she completed a BA in Art History and French Studies at Wellesley College.  She studied at the Universite d'Aix-Marseille in Aix-en-Provence, France while in college.  Jenn also has a MA in French Linguistics from IU.  Jenn taught high school French for four years in the Cleveland area before returning to Bloomington with her husband to start a family.  Jenn has a 6-year old son and a 2-year old daughter.  Jenn also enjoys photography and coaching figure skating at Frank Southern in the Fall and Winter.
